My name is Ben Stapleton, and I am a college student from Grovetown, GA who loves dirt track racing. I got into photography through my dad James Stapleton. I grew up going to the races and watching my dad take pictures just for the fun of it. I soon began to get closer and closer to racers and racing, when I began to help out my long time friend and go-kart racer Joey Ellis. We raced off and on for the better park of 8 years into high school. In high school I was kept away from racing due to the opportunity to play college football. After getting hurt my senior year I decided I had had enough of the round ball sports and wanted to get back to racing. However I could not afford to race at the time and looked for other options. I bought myself a 4 mega pixel digital camera and began taking pictures here and there at races. In 2006 at the beginning of the racing season I was at Modoc showing a few drivers some pictures when driver Royce Bray thought I had a very good picture of him and offered to buy it. This was my first sale of one of my photos. Soon after I started doing this on regular basis just making enough money to pay my way into the races. I was soon offered by Modoc staff and personnel to be their track photographer as they did not have one at the time. I was the track photographer at Modoc for the entire 2006 season and traveled to various other events taking pictures. In 2007 I-20 Speedway re-opened and needed a photographer, I up-graded my equipment to the expensive stuff (camera and printers along with software), expanded my merchandise, and took on two full time tracks as well as taking over the Modoc Speedway website. Half way through the season I met David Carlson (Carlson Race Photos) and Brad Mitchell (Dixie Dirt Tv). Soon after seeing what they had going on and knowing they were needing some help I began to work with them following the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series, when I was not at my two local tracks. That is when I brought my father on board to help me be in two places at once, and began to expand my business between my two local tracks and traveling with Dixie Dirt Tv. At the start of 2008 season I am currently traveling locally on my own. I also am still the track photographer at Modoc Speedway for the 2008 season, as well as the website manager for www.modocspeedway.com. I also beginning the next step in life when I will got married in June of 2008 to my lovely bride to be Brittany Hitchcock.
